The Newbury of Brookline, a Kisco Signature community, is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of the Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 27th. As a proud sponsor, The Newbury is committed to supporting this important cause and raising awareness about Alzheimer’s care and research. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a national event held annually in more than 600 communities, uniting people of all ages and abilities to join the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
Supporting the Community at the Walk
At this year’s walk, The Newbury team will operate a designated water station, keeping participants hydrated and providing valuable information about The Newbury’s range of care services, including Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), and Memory Care (MC). Team members will be easy to spot in their matching shirts, and participants are encouraged to stop by the station or flag down any team members for more information.
For those interested in learning more about The Newbury’s specialized Memory Care services, Celia Andrade, the Memory Care Director at The Newbury, will be available to answer any questions during the walk. She can offer insight into what sets The Newbury’s Memory Care program apart from others, particularly its personalized approach to supporting residents with cognitive challenges.
To celebrate this inspiring day and event, participants are invited to snap photos with their friends and family using selfie frames provided at The Newbury’s water station. Capturing these moments will create lasting memories while raising awareness for a cause that touches so many lives.
Continuing Education for Caregivers
Additionally, caregivers, caseworkers, and healthcare professionals are encouraged to ask about the upcoming continuing education (CE) event hosted by The Newbury in mid-November. This event will provide valuable resources and education specifically for professionals in the caregiving community.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s began in 1989 as the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk and has grown into the largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The Newbury of Brookline is proud to stand alongside other community members in support of this vital cause.
We look forward to walking together, sharing stories, and making a difference in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
